CIVL TEAMS RECEIVE MULTIPLE HONORS AT HONG KONG OPENBIM/OPENGIS AWARDS 2025
We are pleased to announce that two research teams from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, supervised by Prof. Jack C.P. CHENG and Prof. Yantao YU, respectively, have won multiple awards at the Hong Kong openBIM/openGIS Awards 2025. The awards were jointly organized by the Hong Kong Alliance of Built Asset and Environment Information Management Associations (HKABAEIMA) and BuildingSMART Hong Kong.
Prof. Cheng’s team, comprising Dr. George Zhaoji WU, PhD student Wincy Wenli LIU and Dr. Helen Hoi-Ling KWOK, was awarded merit in the professional research category. For the other team consisting of PhD students from Prof. Yu’s research group, Xun LU won the grand award while Xuhong HUANG and Wenyu LI were each awarded merit in the student research category.
The Hong Kong openBIM/openGIS Awards 2025 celebrate outstanding demonstrations of innovation, excellence in project delivery, effective lifecycle asset management and forward-thinking research within the built asset industry. In particular, the research category is dedicated to promoting and celebrating pioneering research that explores the potential of using openBIM/openGIS to address industry challenges.
